Sledz w Oleju (Polish Herrings)

Ingredientes

  • Herring8
  • sliced Onion1
  • Olive Oil1/2 cup
  • Allspice1 tsp
  • Pepper1 tsp
  • Bay Leaf1

Preparar

  1. 🥄Soak herring in cold water for at least 1 hour.
  2. 🔥If very salty, repeat, changing the water each time.
  3. 🧂Drain thoroughly and slice herring into bite-size pieces.

  1. 🔥Place in a jar large enough to accommodate the pieces and cover with oil, allspice, peppercorns, and bay leaf.
  2. 🧂Close the jar.
  3. 🍳Refrigerate for 2 to 3 days before eating.
  4. 🫇This will keep refrigerated up to 2 weeks.

Preparar

  1. 🧂Serve with finely chopped onion or onion slices, lemon, and parsley or dill.
